Donnybrook Walking Trail
Donnybrook has a wealth of history and association with sport, literature, culture and the arts and this trail offers you an opportunity to explore many aspects of the village. Famous residents of Donnybrook include statesmen Michael Collins, Éamon de Valera and Garret Fitzgerald, explorer Ernest Shackleton, artist Cecil Ffrench Salkeld and writers Anthony Trollope, Benedict Kiely and Pamela Lyndon Travers, author of Mary Poppins. Other interesting venues on the trail include Herbert Park, the site of the Irish International Exhibition 1907 which was attended by 2.7 million visitors and the home of the first All Ireland Football Final in 1888.
