Jump in Puddles Challenge
HAPPY WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY!
Dublin City Council is celebrating World Children’s Day by Hosting a ‘JUMP IN PUDDLES CHALLENGE’
(This event will take place virtually due to of Covid-19 restrictions.)
Today, 20th November 2020 is World Children’s Day which marks the 31st Anniversary of the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Dublin City Council is celebrating this event by focusing on and supporting Article 31; the Child’s right to play, not just today but every day! What better way for children and young people to join in than by engaging in play, jumping in a puddle or two and entering DCC’s Play Development “JUMP IN PUDDLES CHALLENGE’!
To join our ‘JUMP IN PUDDLES CHALLENGE’ please send in a video of your child jumping in a puddle (20 seconds max) and confirm consent (to use video), location and/or name of park to play@dublincity.ie from today Friday 20th November until Friday 11th December.
So as Winnie the Pooh says: “When life throws you a rainy day, jump in puddles”
As we can expect a few rainy days ahead, this type of event is a great way for families to support outdoor play by exploring and finding puddles to jump in, in your their own gardens, or when out walking or visiting the park, in a socially-distanced manner or course !
For further information, please contact play@dublincity.ie or debbie.clarke@dublincity.ie
